"Rocky deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. He excelled with stats at or above some of
the best ball players of our time. Rocky played ball in the days when sports heros were real sports heros and true role models
for the youth and our country. Put a ballplayer like Rocky Colavito in the Hall of Fame based on his solid career performance
and dedication to baseball, as evidenced by a huge amount of loyal fans when he played - and growing to this day." ~ Steven J. DeSalvo
"I saw Colavito play many times at Yankee
Stadium. Besides his skills as a hitter and fielder, he was a bona fide star, the kind of player who attracted fans to the
game and made them glad they had come. That's worth a lot in baseball." ~ Charles Paolino
"Rocky belongs in the Hall of Fame." ~ Melissa Di Leo
"Rocky
Colavito should have been inducted in the National Baseball Hall of Fame many years ago!" ~ Garnet Hicks "My earliest memory of Rocky
was of Rocky coming to the Tigers. The team was loaded with talent unfortunately so were the Yankees. Great baseball. As great
a power hitter as he was he was also a great outfielder with a rocket arm (before steroids). His moving around hurt him." ~ Adam Gibson
"Go Rocky! At a recently held card show in the Cleveland area I had the chance to
talk to Rocky personally as I was one of the last to show up and obtain his autograph on numerous items. We discussed the
HoF issue. He admitted the trade from Cleveland probably cost him a seat in Cooperstown. Had he stayed in Cleveland he felt
his chances at the HoF were very good when compared to his contemporaries. After Cleveland his career was too fragmented to
realize his ability and performance was that of a superstar. I encourage the Veteran's committee to take a long look at
Rocky Colavito for inclusion in the Baseball Hall of Fame...and may Frank Lane turn over in his grave! ~ Chuck
Palsa
"Way
overdue!!!" ~ Dennis Cunningham
On May 21, 2010, Randy Ayotte, a fan from Michigan, made this Petition comment:
"Rocky
Colavito is the best position player not in the HOF, his 162 games avg. is as follows: AB R
H 2B 3B HR
RBI SB CS BB
SO BA
572 85 152 25 2
33 102 2 2
84 77 .266
Those are HOF numbers, 98% of the players today would take these stats
in a New York minute.
Rocky hit over 25 home run 9 different years, over 100 RBI 6 different years, over
150 hits 6 years, over 90 runs 5 different years, over 25 doubles 7 different years, and had more BB then SO in 8 different
years. That's a great stat in itself by a power hitter.
Mr Colavito deserves to be Hall Of Famer,
put him in so he can enjoy it, why wait."
"...Rocky Colavito will always
remind me of my childhood with my Mom and Dad and my brothers and sisters when all I worried about was what the Indians did
and how did Rocky do at the plate!? It was a much simpler time and Rocky Colavito was King! Rocky Colavito and
my Dad are still my heros and always will be!..." ~ Mark Potthoff
"I was one of those young fans he took time to sign an autograph for. I feel if they would have
kept him on the Indians, we would have won the pennant the next year. I am sure the GM wishes he would have kept him
based on what Harvey Keunn did not do." ~ William Cope
"Deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Grew up watching Rocky play for the Tigers. Had
a history of home runs and RBI's for the Tigers. Always was a clutch hitter." ~ Joe Caruana
"Better numbers then half of players in Hall now." ~ Kerry Stewart

career, was a well rounded gifted player, and his good sportsmanship was recognized by the fans around the league, the press
and his fellow team mates and opponents. Rocky deserves the Hall." ~ Thomas Pryor

an arm as good as Clemente. Just like the Babe, he could also pitch very well." ~ Guy Mascio

"Rocky was more than just numbers. Rocky was all about integrity. The HOF might
remember how polite and respectful he was to his elders and the fine example of proper conduct and manners he was for his
young fans. Parents like and looked to him as an excellent role model for their children on how to play the game and
how to act as a person." ~ Randy Marks

man like Gil Hodges. He deserves the Hall of Fame." ~ Anonymous

Sabby

"I am proud to support this campaign and believe together WE can make this happen!" ~ gloria gilmartin
"Like the Babe, el-Rocco could have made the bigs as a pitcher. He was simply too
good a hitter and had to play every day." ~ s. darrpw
